Its Election day, great another election, yes another choice on who to represent me and my family in Government and to what government we get.

Sadly the choice of date is so close to Christmas that for a lot of people its hard enough to spend time looking for presents than having the time to read the amount of leaflets coming through my letter box, and the amount of propaganda on all sides is overwhelming and we are suppose to be saving the planet and not wasting paper?.

Well whats this election thing about then” asked ASBO at dinner, “is it to do with Boris fighting the old bloke with the beard?”… right Ok (I knew this was going to  hard) Britain has (not forgetting northern Ireland) 650 constituency’s which 1 person in voted in and is then called a MP,  these MP’s are people voted in by people over 18 like mummy & Daddy to represent the population of that constituency in how we would like the country to be run on a national level and a local level … silence fell in the kitchen … “so Boris is not going to punch the old bloke in the nose” No ASBO its not boxing, but for a party “with music” no Tiddley with more than 325 MP’s they have the majority vote and can pass new Laws with out a challenge (I had lost the will to explain so kept it in layman’s terms) “so what goes on at the party Dad” Well Squash its a group of people who share similar ideas and they work together for the country , “so its a club not a party” yes I explained, then as if by magic they all finished there dinners and asked to leave the table which was unexpected but I had been waffling on for about politics for 20 minutes but in my mind I hope at least something went in.

The one good thing today I can see is that I have 2 bottles of Skinners beer on my kitchen shelf so what ever the result I can enjoy each of these bottles whist watching the endless political rhetoric on T.V. “Well hooray for Beer”

The Beers are both brewed by Skinners from Truro Cornwall, firstly Lushingtons sunshine pale ale 4.2% and the old Favourite Betty Stogs 4%

So when reading up on the Lushingtons the picture is of a day in north Cornwall spent on a hidden beach, the sun has been beating down all day and the air is hot, the smell of sun cream is in the air the breeze flooding the air with the scent of the sea, the sun slowly going down over the rolling waves and you taste the golden hop-laden Ale.

Well, I get it, my only problem was it was a very cold damp night sitting in front of the T.V. watching Hugh Edwards and the dancing Mr. Vine talking about the election.

Yes, it a great golden Ale but of the two I found the Betty Stogs the champion as it has the right flavors for a night of election fever in the festive season, it is less flowery and more warming although come summer will I be saying the same?

But I did it again Lidl shopping with the kids I found the £3 wine but this time got it right.

Please read my “What A Cork up” Post https://knackered-dad.com/corked-up/

The Rioja from Calificada £4.99 down to £3 is a cracking Rioja, Dark heavy and Dry, if it was a dance it would be a pasodoble with its fiery taste military costume and it certainly makes you shiver with delight at 120 steps a minute.
