In the vibrant chaos of my life, I’m Matt – a knackered dyslexic asthmatic postman, devoted husband to “G,” and proud father of four unique children. They’re capable of stirring both smiles and tears, embodying love and unintentional hurt in a single breath. Amidst the challenges of raising kids, I find solace in red wine, real ale, and beer, indulging in my passion for Land Rovers and the thrill of surfing.

Our journey began in 2002 when we traded London’s hustle for the rolling hills of Devon. Seeking a slower pace, we discovered a haven with surf at our doorstep and breathtaking scenery. Despite attempts to sell our house, it seems to cling to us, demanding a mortgage payment but embracing us as its own.

Our decision to have four children wasn’t about gender balance; it was a conscious choice to break free from a life of mere existence. After putting our dreams on hold for kids, we realized we weren’t truly living. A bottle or two of red wine prompted a contemplative night, gazing at the backs of our neighbors’ houses and questioning our dreams of a farmhouse.

As a family, we thrive on days out – from surfing in Croyde to exploring national parks and seaside villages. My personal joys include a good day out, a flavorful beer, BBQs with family and friends, and savoring a full-bodied red.

While my spelling may be naff, and my photography skills a work in progress, I’m on a journey of self-improvement. So, join me in celebrating the messiness of life, the joys of parenting, and the pursuit of dreams – all with a good dose of humor and a hearty glug of red.
